I'M MICHELLE BATEMAN

I had the dream like most young girls do, to find a wonderful man, have a beautiful wedding, have a family and be happy forever, except I wasn’t happy for long before things began to fall apart and I found myself starting over as a single mom of a newborn and 3 year old daughter. This couldn’t have been further off my lifes plans, however the real wake-up call came after being in a very lonely empty second marriage and I had thoughts of smothering my husband with a pillow. I knew something had to change NOW. Don’t worry I didn’t do it!

It was in that moment I realized I was not the woman I used to be and that made me scared and sad. Who am I … what do I want…? The most painful part was the example I was showing my daughters. I couldn’t imagine this was it, this was all there was to life... this dull ache of sadness and un-fulfilment to spend the rest of my life with.
